Gifted students possess wonderful talents and perceptions, but they can also struggle with social and emotional problems that are directly related to their giftedness. During this workshop, we will explore a number of the affective issues that gifted students may face and talk about ways to help them work through these challenges in order to become happier and more successful people.
Intended Audience: Parents, educators, guidance counselors and/or anyone who supports gifted students
Presenter: Margaret Solitario
Margaret Solitario is a former elementary school principal and has over 30 years of experience working with gifted students.She has been a teacher of the gifted, a supervisor of gifted education, a state officer in the New Jersey Association for Gifted Children, a site director for the Summer Institute for the Gifted, and Executive Director for Academic Programs for College Gifted Programs. She is currently a consultant for Standards Solution, a corporation that trains teachers and administrators on Common Core Standards.
